| 为受战争影响儿童请命的慈善组织War Child，大约是由于得到很多摇滚歌手、乐队的支持，所以多次发行专属的合辑唱片，用来募得善款。自1995年以来，War Child系列专辑共有5张，尤以其中两辑“Help!”最为著名（第一辑：P097/P351/P693-S；第二辑：L298）。作为去年出版的最新一辑War Child，这张《War Child Heroes: The Ultimate Covers Album》和它的“兄长”专辑颇有些不同：其一它是张翻唱专辑，由目前当红的艺人乐队翻唱流行乐史上的经典作品；其二是这一辑花了半年时间录制制作完毕，和前两辑《Help!》秉持的“唱片应该如报纸”的时效性理念和快速制作上市做法大相径庭。 这一辑的欧版专辑收录15曲，分别是Beck翻唱Bob Dylan的《Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat》、Scissor Sisters翻唱Roxy Music的《Do the Strand》、Lily Allen and Mick Jones翻唱The Clash的《Straight to Hell》、Duffy翻唱Paul McCartney and Wings的《Live and Let Die》、Elbow翻唱U2的《Running to Stand Still》、TV on the Radio翻唱David Bowie的《Heroes》、Hot Chip翻唱Joy Division的《Transmission》、The Kooks翻唱The Kinks的《Victoria》、Estelle翻唱Stevie Wonder的《Superstition》、Rufus Wainwright翻唱Brian Wilson的《Wonderful/Song For Children》、Peaches翻唱The Stooges的《Search and Destroy》、The Hold Steady翻唱Bruce Springsteen的《Atlantic City》、The Like翻唱Elvis Costello的《You Belong to Me》、Yeah Yeah Yeahs翻唱The Ramones的《Sheena Is a Punk Rocker》、Franz Ferdinand翻唱Blondie的《Call Me》。美版专辑则还多加一首Adam Cohen翻唱他传奇老爸Leonard Cohen的《Take This Waltz》，而如果把欧版专辑放入光驱连入War Child的官网，除了《Take This Waltz》，还可以再多得一首bonus track：由Mark Ronson和Duran Duran合作现场演唱后者的007主题《View To A Kill》。 这张专辑另有两个亮点不得不提：一是专辑的视觉设计是Stone Roses的原吉他手John Squire做的，而之前两辑的《Help!》的设计同样也出自他手笔（我个人还是最喜欢第一辑）；另一点是这辑《War Child Heroes: The Ultimate Covers Album》还有限量的黑胶盒装，15首作品以15张7寸黑胶压制，而每张的B面竟然就是相对应的经典原版！ |

| 作为《柏林苍穹下》的后续，《Faraway, So Close!》总被认为是维姆文德斯少有的泛泛之作，不过电影原声就别样精彩。文德斯的常年好友U2为这部影片写了《Stay (faraway, so close!)》，收录在乐队的同年专辑《Zooropa》里，而U2特意将这首歌和专辑里另一首与乡村老鸟Johnny Cash合唱的《The Wanderer》都拿出来，做成不同的编曲版本交给电影原声收录。另外，一众另类摇滚歌手、乐队包括Nick Cave、Lou Reed、Simon Bonney、The House Of Love和Jane Siberry等都为专辑贡献了力量。 | |

| 《Dear Catastrophe Waitress》(L671)的第三支单曲，日本版又来好料！Belle And Sebastian亲自演唱日文的《I’m a cuckoo》，只收录在这个日版单曲里面。其实《I’m a cuckoo》就是前一首单曲，日本也有发行单曲唱片(E572-S)，可惜这个日文版当时没来得及收录，只能附在这后一张单曲里了。另外，日本版还多加一首《Final day》，这首歌原本是B&S翻唱Young Marble Giants的，收录在Rough Trade 25周年纪念专辑《Stop Me if You Think You've Heard This One Before...》(L235)里，虽然是off-album的作品，但其实也不算难得，不过日本版收的是节奏不同的慢版，这个估计就是“全世界独占”了。 | |
